Overview
The Shark Fin Ascent is a thrilling 3-day climb in the heart of Torres del Paine. After a boat ride across Lake Pehoe, the journey begins with a challenging hike to a high camp at the base of the Shark Fin. Day two involves a demanding ascent through 500 meters of Patagonian granite, rewarding climbers with stunning views of the French Valley, Paine Grande, and surrounding peaks. After reaching the 1,800-meter summit, climbers rappel down and return to camp. The final day includes a descent and a celebratory return to Puerto Natales. This ascent is ideal for experienced climbers with a proficiency of level 5.9.

ITINERARY
It is important to mention that the guide may modify the itinerary based on climatic and environmental conditions, but the goal is always to adhere to the planned program as closely as possible.
Itinerary for the 1 days
We depart from Puerto Natales via private or regular transportation, embarking on a two-hour journey to Torres del Paine National Park. From Puerto Pudeto on Lake Pehoe, we will board a boat for a thirty-minute crossing to the Paine Massif. Upon arrival at the Paine Grande Pier, we will undertake a 5-6 hour hike to our High Camp, situated at the base of the Shark’s Fin and nestled in the heart of the French Valley, enveloped by stunning granite walls.
Itinerary for day 2
We will depart from our high camp at 4 AM, making our way toward the West Face of Shark Fin, where our ascent will commence. We will navigate approximately 500 meters of Patagonian fissures in remarkable granite until we reach the pinnacle of this iconic formation. From the summit, we will be treated to a panoramic view of the French Valley, with other renowned peaks such as Paine Grande, Castillo, Catedral, and Cabeza de Indio surrounding us. After savoring this extraordinary vantage point, we will initiate our descent, rappelling down the same route and returning to our high camp.
Itinerary for day 3
On our third day, we will descend to the Paine Grande pier to board the boat returning to the opposite side of Lake Pehoe, followed by our Private/Regular Transport to Puerto Natales to celebrate our ascent!
