Overview
On the shores of Laguna Sofía, this journey to conquer the highest peak in the region commences. Cerro Mocho, an iconic hill visible from Puerto Natales, adds grandeur to this area rich in flora and fauna. We will begin our trek early in the morning, traversing through bushes and Lenga forests, forging a path with a consistent incline toward the moraine. We will pause to admire the breathtaking views to the south, highlighting Laguna Sofía and Cerro Benitez. Upon reaching the end of the tree line, we will proceed along the moraine until we reach the summit, where a panoramic 360º view awaits us, showcasing Puerto Natales and the Fjord of Última Esperanza on one side, and the Torres del Paine National Park and the Southern Ice Field on the other. This spectacular vista of the province will enchant us with the authentic landscapes of Patagonia. It is important to note that this excursion does not follow an established trail.
