Heart of Paine: Three Hikes

Overview

By combining three hikes centered on Torres del Paine National Park, you will have the opportunity to experience various perspectives and moments to admire the Paine Massif, Sarmiento Lake, and Nordenskjold Lake. During this excursion, we will pass through the Sarmiento Gate to commence our first hike along the eastern side of the park. Here, we will be vigilant for native fauna along the trail, traversing biological corridors. We will arrive at a site featuring rock paintings that date back over 6,000 years, before continuing our journey to a new entry point, the Amarga Gate. Our driver will be waiting here to transport us to our second hike of the day, Sarmiento Chico. Alongside our guide, we will embark on an adventure along a less-traveled path that will take us back in time to witness one of the earliest forms of life on the planet! The renowned thrombolites of Sarmiento Lake will captivate us with stunning views and fascinating stories of our planet. After returning to the vehicle, we will proceed to our final hike, Mirador Cuernos. During this tour, we will pass by Salto Grande, a waterfall that connects two of the park’s most impressive lakes. In this area, which is typically a bit windier, we will walk toward the Paine Massif, enjoying a continuous view of the rock formations until we reach the shores of Lake Nordenskjold. This excursion will present one of the most picturesque vistas of the park.
