Torres del Paine East National Park + Aonikenk Trek & Cañadón Macho

Overview

This excursion begins with a scenic drive through the eastern side of the province, passing by estancias and the golden coiron fields illuminated by the first rays of the sun. The journey includes a stop at Lake Sarmiento, the largest lake in the park, offering a panoramic view of the Paine Massif. The first hike starts at the park’s edge and traverses a biological corridor frequented by local fauna, eventually reaching cave paintings made by the Tehuelches over 6,000 years ago. From this vantage point, you will enjoy views of the southeastern face of the Paine Massif.

The adventure continues with a drive to the Laguna Amarga entrance, followed by a visit to Laguna Azul, where you can appreciate the Torres del Paine from a unique perspective (weather permitting). You will embark on a low-intensity hike through a Lenga forest to a viewpoint that provides stunning views of the expansive Magellanic pampas. The excursion concludes with a stop at Paine Waterfall, a key part of the park’s hydrological network, providing more opportunities for amazing photographs.
